Description

The EnChroma® Summit Indoor Universal Color Blind Glasses are part of EnChroma’s indoor glasses collection and are specifically designed for people with red‑green color blindness who want to enhance their color perception indoors and in low or diffuse lighting. The glasses use EnChroma’s Universal Indoor Lens technology, which the manufacturer states is effective for both of the most common types of red‑green color vision deficiency—Protan and Deutan.

The indoor lenses differ significantly from outdoor lenses, such as those in the Derby, Ellis, or California series: while outdoor models address bright sunlight, glare, and UV protection, the indoor version provides a light tint and filtering effect specifically optimized for indoor environments, workplaces, schools, or home use. The filters help many people with color vision deficiency perceive colors more clearly and distinctly in lower‑light situations—for example, when working on a computer, cooking, viewing art, or sorting clothing.

The Summit model combines this technology with a contoured frame that provides side protection and a comfortable fit. Thanks to interchangeable side shields, soft nose pads, and silicone inserts on the temples, it is suitable for extended everyday wear. The materials meet ANSI safety standards (e.g., Z87.1 and Z87.2) and offer durable, lightweight comfort.

In addition to the Summit frame, EnChroma’s range includes other indoor designs featuring the same Universal Lens (e.g., Grayson, Oakvale, Campus, Rockridge). These models differ in style, material, fit, and size but use the same core indoor color‑filter technology.
