Description

The Soloc seat belts from The Active Hands Company are specially designed wheelchair pelvic belts that enable people with limited or no hand function to fasten themselves independently and safely. The product range includes three different versions – Soloc Connect, Soloc Uno, and Soloc Freedom – each designed for different levels of hand and arm function. All three models use the same magnetically assisted Soloc fastening system but differ in the level of support they provide.

Soloc Connect is the base version of the system. It is intended for users who have reduced but still functional hand use and experience difficulties with standard push-button or click buckles. The magnet-guided fastener automatically aligns the belt ends and locks them securely into place. Final adjustment is done using an easy-to-grip D-ring. Compared to conventional wheelchair seat belts, Soloc Connect significantly reduces the force required and supports greater independence in everyday use.

Soloc Uno is designed for people who can use only one hand or one arm, for example after a stroke or in cases of unilateral paralysis. In addition to the Soloc magnetic buckle, this model includes a FlexiFix arm that holds the belt upright. This keeps the buckle accessible during transfers and allows the belt to be fastened safely with one hand. Compared to standard seat belts, Soloc Uno offers clearly improved one-handed usability.

Soloc Freedom is the most advanced version and is intended for people with very limited or no hand function on both sides. Two FlexiFix arms hold the belt open, and the buckle is engaged by pressing the arms downward – no gripping is required. This design fundamentally differs from industry-standard wheelchair seat belts and enables independent fastening without hand use.
