The Smart Wild is a hybrid handbike and electric towing device for manual wheelchairs. It combines a hand-crank drive with a powerful electric pedelec system and is specifically designed for users who want to remain mobile on more demanding terrain, inclines, or longer distances.

The handbike is connected to the wheelchair via the Stricker clamping system. The wheelchair’s caster wheels are lifted, creating a three-wheeled vehicle setup. This significantly improves off-road capability and makes it easier to travel on cobblestones, gravel paths, country roads, or other uneven surfaces. The coupling process can be carried out by the user and often requires no permanent modifications to the wheelchair.

The Smart Wild is equipped with a high-performance hub motor delivering up to 1,500 watts of power and a 48-volt lithium-ion battery. Motor assistance is provided up to 25 km/h. The system is complemented by a 10-speed gear system, a colour display, and a thumb throttle start assist. For added comfort, it also features an integrated cruise control system.

Propulsion is achieved via the hand cranks, which can be used both in pedelec mode and fully manually. This makes the Smart Wild suitable for both active recreational riders and users looking to extend their everyday mobility. The model can serve as an alternative to a power wheelchair or lever-drive system.
