Description
SightPlus™ is a portable, clinically validated low vision aid (wearable system) designed to give people with untreatable visual impairments significantly improved vision. Unlike traditional reading devices or stationary magnifiers, SightPlus™ combines cutting-edge Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technology in a wearable headset that works in conjunction with a smartphone.
The device enhances both near and distance vision by capturing, processing, and displaying visual information in real time on a screen in front of the eyes, with adjustable zoom, contrast, and color modes. Users can read text, recognize faces, see television images more clearly, and perceive whiteboards, street signs, or everyday objects more accurately. SightPlus™ also allows individual customization via Bluetooth control (joystick) and offers features such as freeze-frame and variable image modes to adapt visual perception to personal needs.
Clinical studies, including at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, show that 98% of participants experienced measurable improvement in vision—on average by six lines on a standardized eye chart. Results demonstrated significant improvements in distance and near vision, contrast perception, and the ability to carry out daily tasks independently.
