Description
Pedius is a mobile communication app that enables deaf, severely hard-of-hearing, or speech-impaired individuals to make phone calls to landline and mobile numbers independently. Using a smartphone or tablet, Pedius converts typed text into understandable spoken words, which are read aloud via speech synthesis during the call. Simultaneously, the speech of the conversation partner is converted into text in real time and displayed on the screen, allowing the user to read the responses.
The app leverages speech recognition and speech synthesis technologies to facilitate conversations without the need for traditional interpreters or relay services. Users can choose to use their own voice or have the text read aloud automatically.
