It combines artificial intelligence (AI) with a miniaturized optical sensor to instantly convert printed or digital text into speech—completely offline, without an internet connection. Operation is incredibly simple: hold the device like a pen, press the large button, and a pointer indicates the area being read. As soon as you release the button, the highlighted text is read aloud through the built-in speaker or optional Bluetooth headphones.
Equipped with a 13-megapixel camera including a flash, the OrCam Read Smart reliably recognizes even small or low-contrast text.
