MURKEL – Tiltable Specialized Wheelchair

Description

The MURKEL is a tiltable, individually configurable specialized wheelchair developed by molab GmbH as a custom-built solution for complex mobility needs. It is specifically designed to safely and functionally carry multiple medical devices while allowing the user to remain manually mobile. This sets it apart from conventional active wheelchairs, which are primarily intended for basic mobility.

The MURKEL features dynamically adjustable storage options for medical devices such as suction units, Cough Assist devices, ventilators, oxygen supplies, feeding pumps, monitors, care tools, or emergency bags. This integration makes the wheelchair suitable for users who rely on multiple assistive devices but do not want them transported in stationary setups.

The seat angle of the MURKEL can be continuously adjusted via a hole grid system, enabling ergonomic positioning for various body postures. This differs from other tiltable models, such as the CHILLIE, where seat angle adjustment is implemented differently due to spatial constraints.

Thanks to an optional crash-tested version compliant with ISO 7176‑19 for up to 50 kg, or a weight-optimized version for higher mobility, the MURKEL can be both safe for road use and lightweight for enhanced maneuverability. Its continuously adjustable wheelbase and the ability to “grow in all directions” make it particularly flexible for users who need a long-term, individually adaptable mobility solution.

Compared to conventional specialized wheelchairs, the MURKEL offers distinct advantages: integration of medical devices, ergonomic adjustability, and a fully custom-built design tailored to the user’s specific life circumstances and medical requirements.

The price stated above represents the base price of this product.
