Angled Aid (Angled Holding Aid)

Description

The Angled Aid is a specialized grip and holding aid designed to support objects at an angle—particularly for activities where the item is not held straight, such as sports equipment or tools.

Unlike conventional aids like the General Purpose Aid, which secures objects in a straight line with a neutral hand position, the Angled Aid allows for a natural angle of approximately 45 degrees. This makes it especially suitable for sports such as tennis, table tennis, or baseball, where a racket or bat is held diagonally. It can also be used in everyday situations for angled grips, for example when holding a hammer or similar objects.

The aid comes with a separate strap that allows users to adjust the angle to their needs. The strap is wrapped twice around the hand to position it correctly and to ensure a secure grip using the little finger. Two strap variants are available:

  • Strap with rubber backing: durable and ideal when additional support is needed, such as when pushing a wheelchair (e.g., for wheelchair tennis).

  • Webbing-only strap: lighter and better suited for activities that do not involve simultaneously pushing a wheelchair.

The Angled Aid is not only designed for serious sports use but can also be practical in daily life, such as playing with children. Compared to many standard grip aids on the market, it provides an ergonomically correct angled support specifically developed for diagonal hand positions—a function that sets it apart from conventional straight-line grip systems.
